All personnel working on vessels and offshore installations need training in lifeboat operations to ensure an orderly, panic-free abandonment. Crew need to be practiced in lifeboat drills to know how to safely launch the lifeboat in an emergency.  Also, they need training in survival techniques for after lifeboat launch.

This training combines two courses from our Lifeboat Inspection, Drills, Operation, and Maintenance Training Series and focuses specifically on proper drills, launch, survival, and retrieval.

Upon completion of this course, crewmembers will be able to identify different types of lifeboats and davits and determine their launching procedures. Additionally, they will understand the process of mustering, conducting drills, and preparing to launch in an emergency. Also, students will be able to safely demonstrate the launch and retrieval of a lifeboat.

Furthermore, they will understand the best practices for navigating the lifeboat away from danger and identify navigation techniques in various sea conditions. And finally, students will be able to determine safe methods for the rescue of the lifeboat crew. Length: 66 minutes
