Maritime Cybersecurity Awareness
Part of the Maritime Cybersecurity Compliance Suite.
This updated course now fulfills U.S. Coast Guard cybersecurity training requirements for all personnel working on MTSA-regulated vessels and facilities under 33 CFR §101.650(d)(1)(i–v). The compliance deadline is January 12, 2026, after which annual refresher training is required.
This course is designed for all vessel and facility personnel, including contractors, and addresses cyber threats such as phishing, ransomware, and system hacks that can disrupt operations, compromise safety, and damage equipment.
Maritime Cybersecurity Awareness prepares your crew to recognize, prevent, and report these incidents, helping ensure inspection readiness while protecting your operations, cargo, and reputation.
Participants learn to:
- Identify phishing and social engineering attempts
- Avoid common attack methods like credential theft and infected USB drives
- Protect both IT and OT systems
- Follow proper reporting and communication procedures
The interactive training option uses maritime-specific interactive scenarios that require learners to respond to cyber incidents affecting navigation, communication, and engine control systems, while simple onboarding, built-in assessments, and easy recordkeeping support learning, reinforce sound decision-making, and help mariners practice the right actions when cyber threats occur.
The streaming course option does NOT contain learning checks and interactivities and will require additional training to fulfill the requirements.
