This program will help you understand the purpose and importance of energy control and the lockout/tagout procedures required to prevent the release of hazardous energy and prevent accidents in the workplace.

To better understand the lockout/tagout procedure, this course defines lockout and tagout, and explores common situations that would require lockout/tagout. Module topics also include the two main states of energy, other types of hazardous energy, and basic steps common to all lockout/tagout procedures.

Upon completion of this training, students will be able to demonstrate the procedures necessary to lockout and tagout equipment prior to maintenance or servicing, and relate the steps necessary for restoring equipment after service or maintenance of equipment is complete. Length: 17 minutes
